July  2025, Ladder Hill Road and Shy Road will be closed around the clock for essential milling and resurfacing works . This will directly affect taxi travel between Jamestown and the western side of St Helena. Expect higher fares, longer waits, earlier unavailability in the morning, and operational adjustments including two‑vehicle coordination and smarter dispatching.
