A Note About Our New Airport Transfer Payment Policy

As Saint Helenians, we pride ourselves on being warm, hospitable, and deeply trusting. Welcoming visitors with a friendly smile and reliable service is at the heart of what Williams Taxis & Tours stands for.

We’re proud to help new arrivals start their St Helena journey the right way — safe, comfortable, and stress-free.

However, a recent incident has made us rethink how we manage our Airport Transfer Service.

Last weekend, two individuals used our trusted transfer service from the Airport to their accommodation but unfortunately chose not to settle their fare with our driver as agreed. Despite our attempts to resolve this politely during the first part of their stay — including multiple follow-ups by WhatsApp — there was no response until almost time for their departure - and still not confirming their departure date, but yet asking for transfer to St Helena Airport.

Only then did they dispute our agreed fare, claimed they could find it cheaper elsewhere, and falsely stated our driver had offered them a lower price.

We never want misunderstandings like this to happen — for our team, or for our valued customers who do the right thing every day.

To protect our local drivers and ensure our services remain fair and reliable, we now require that all Airport Transfers must be secured with either a deposit or full payment in advance. This payment can be made:

Before you arrive on St Helena Island.

Or directly at the Airport before your transfer to your accommodation, via cash or Bank Of St Helena Tourist Card App.

Remember: Cash can be withdrawn at the Bank Of ST Helena Terminal at the St Helena Airport.

This small change means we can keep offering the safe, dependable transfers our customers expect — without risking unnecessary losses that affect our local business and team.
